I am always on the hunt for great summer tops. I absolutely love this knotted-waist striped top by Tibi. This will seamlessly fit into any warm weather wardrobe. The lightweight silk crepe will keep you cool and I love the combo of orange and khaki. Pair this with either jeans or shorts…I especially love it with white denim. I love to stock up on easy pieces like this one so I am always keeping my eye out for great options. Check out Shopbop as well because they have the same top in another color variation. The orange and khaki is available at Net-A-Porter for $275.

I picked up these Balenciaga Glove Espadrille sandals at Barneys when I was in NY for an overnight layover (yes I am productive like that!) and they must be one of the most comfortable and versatile shoes ever. The leather is so buttery soft and the wedge makes for a gentle pitch for added comfort. These would look amazing with skinny jeans and also with a summery dress. The unique shape makes for an edgier shoe that compliments more feminine pieces like floral dresses well. I love the contrast of something like a harsher shoe or leather jacket with a super girly dress. It makes for a less literal interpretation of the outfit and is so much more fun than going the obvious route. These would also look amazing with shorts as they make legs look miles long. They are available here in black or dune for $695. I got the dune but now I am eyeing the black!

Sorry for the delay in posting! I have been in Africa for the past two weeks and I am just starting to get settled back into normal life. Now that it is May, spring is officially in full swing. The threat of that freak April snowstorm is gone so we can all switch over our closets and take inventory of what is missing in our warm weather wardrobes. A great warm weather staple? A fabulous summer party dress. I love this red and steel grey Herve Leger dress. The bandage style will suck you in and give you a flawless shape. This would be such an obvious choice for a July 4 party (obvious in a good way)! You look patriotic without appearing like you are trying to drape yourself in a flag. Add some fabulous wedges or stilettos (opt for wedges for an outdoor party to avoid aerating your hosts’ lawn) and you are good to go. This dress, like all Herve Leger pieces, has a ton of stretch and give but be careful not to try and cram yourself into a smaller size than you actually need to make your ego feel good. I have seen this way too many times and it is so unfortunate because it creates lots of lumps and pulling which is exactly what these dresses should NOT do to your figure. It is available here for $1690.

I love an easy shirtdress when the weather warms up. They are comfortable, flattering, and so easy to take from day to evening. I really like this Thakoon Ikat Lace Shirtdress. I always love an Ikat print for spring and the addition of black lace is a nice touch. Wear this with black gladiator sandals for day, dress it up with a heel for evening, or layer it over leggings and ankle boots with a black leather jacket to take it into fall. Versatile pieces like this Thakoon dress are well worth the investment because they allow for maximum mileage year round and from day to night. It is available at Shopbop for $890.

The MICHAEL Michael Kors line is becoming pretty darn reliable when it comes to churning out wearable and reasonably priced shoes and handbags. I love this Sloan woven raffia and canvas clutch. The chain strap makes for maximum wearability and the neutral color makes it perfect for summer. The python effect leather trim adds even more chic and really pulls the whole look of the bag together. Dress it down with shorts or dress it up with a summery cocktail dress. At $190 it is an absolute steal! Plus, the hardware says “Michael Kors” as opposed to “MICHAEL Michael Kors” which means no one will know it isn’t from the more expensive line. It is available at Net-A-Porter.

I know this bag is still expensive at $895 but isn’t it refreshing to see a covetable bag for under $1000? I am loving this Pashli tote by 3.1 Phillip Lim. I adore the gold hardware, the textured leather, and the general versatility of this bag. It is a great purse to take you from the office to the weekend and everywhere in between. The large size means you can fit all of your belongings but it isn’t so big that it feels like luggage and is difficult to carry. The Pashli is available in classic back but I actually really like this forest green color. I have a couple of bags in similar shades of green and it is a surprisingly versatile color. It works with black and looks amazing with other neutrals like brown and beige as well. My deep army green luggage mini by Celine is my go-to bag for travel because it matches all of my daytime outfits. I just pack a black clutch and I am good to go for day and evening. The Pashli tote is available here.

Michael Kors keeps churning out stylish and fabulous shoes for his MICHAEL Michael Kors line. The newest addition? The Nadina leather and cork platforms. I adore anything with a cork platform. Because it is slightly soft, it does an amazing job absorbing shock and adding some cushion. It is also lightweight which ups the comfort factor even more. These beauties will go with everything. The platform eases the pitch a bit and the ankle strap provides much needed support. And they are a great buy at $150. The Nadina is available at Net-A-Porter in tan and at Zappos in two other color variations (the Zappos versions are without cork heels.)
