Resort might be my favorite fashion season. Yes it feels a little premature seeing that there isn’t even snow on the ground yet (I am secretly hoping for another winter like the one we had last year) but I love the wearability of resort clothing. Charlotte Olympia is one of my absolute favorite shoe designers and I am loving these Miranda canvas and bamboo print sandals. They are available in red and black (but the heel on the black is higher) and while I do love both colors I think the red is so much fun. I am also loving the lower heel. Most Charlotte Olympia shoes clock in at a staggering 6 inches but these are much more practical for everyday at 4.5 inches with a 1 inch platform. These would be amazing with so many different outfits. They are perfect with denim (white or regular) and are a great way to add a splash of color to a dress. They are available at Net-A-Porter for $895.
It is always difficult to find great little jackets that you can throw over a dress when a chill is in the air. I really love this Rebecca Taylor Sequin jacket. The casual biker style of it is dressed up by matte black sequins making it the perfect wear with everything piece. I like that the jacket isn’t too shiny because I feel like it can work with a lot of different dresses and outfits. Throw it on over a little red dress and sky high heels for New Years and you will be the most well-dressed girl in the room. This is one of those pieces that you will get a ton of compliments on throughout the holiday season and beyond. It is available at Shopbop for $550.
Check out Net-A-Porter’s website for further markdowns during their epic sale. These unreal Alaia boots are 40% off and Alaia NEVER ever goes on sale. Yes they are still very pricey but they are gorgeous, supremely comfortable (I promise) and extremely wearable. Sales online can be super overwhelming so it is best to have a tried and true strategy that works for you. I like to shop by designer because I always have my eye on specific pieces throughout the season so I search those first to see if they are marked down. The website offers plenty of ways to search so find the way that is best for you. I also love looking at the Editor’s Picks section. There are tons of new sale items and further reductions on the site so shop early for the best selection.
Now that holiday party season is in full swing, we as women are faced with the difficult task of making sure our makeup lasts and lasts into the wee hours. I have tried every foundation primer out there (Laura Mercier, Hourglass, etc.) and they all seem to lead to clogged pores. I received a sample of Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray in my most recent Sephora order so I decided to test it out over Thanksgiving. This stuff will seriously change your makeup life. Just spray it over your finished makeup look and you do not have to worry about touchups all night. I was out for 6 hours and my makeup still looked flawless right before I washed my face for bed. This is my newest must have. It is available at Sephora for $29.
I am a big fan of leggings. Basic black is the obvious go-to, but what to do when you want the comfort of a legging but a little more excitement? I adore these Isabel Marant ones. The navy color, the gold button detailing, the red piping-these are absolutely perfect and adorable in my book. Tuck in a white button down and wear with flats for military chic, wear them with a red or white sweater if you are feeling patriotic, or throw on a slouchy tee and blazer for a more pulled together look. The Serra leggings are available at Net-A-Porter for $590 (not cheap but they are wool not cotton).
I adore Charlotte Olympia shoes, but most of them are NOT for wall-flowers or women who are afraid of heights. However, if you are a fearless fashionista with cash to spare, I am loving the Dolly Rainbow-Feathered Pump. These are one of those fashion items that make you smile just looking at them. They are completely impractical (6 inch heel, covered in multi colored feathers, need I say more?) but who cares? Fashion is supposed to be fun (at least in my book) and these shoes are seriously ready to party. I am almost glad they are not available for pre-order in my size otherwise I might have some explaining to do to my husband when these feathered friends arrive in the mail. They are available at Neiman Marcus for $1250 (I told you they weren’t cheap).
It feels like everyone I know has a bun in the oven so it is about time I do a post on something baby related. There are TONS of great diaper bags on the market at all different price points. However, for those ladies who are hell bent on staying as chic and fashionable as possible, I love this Prada Baby Bag as an option. Now before you judge me for even mentioning a $1000-plus diaper bag, please take into consideration that the bag is completely made of nylon which means it is totally wipeable and washable. Also, the design of it is flawless. It has pockets and even a removable drawstring pouch for bottles, a folded up changing pad with its own pocket, and lots of great interior and exterior storage space. Even better, after you no longer need it as a diaper bag, it can be repurposed as a cute carry-on. It is available at Neiman Marcus for $1140.
I absolutely love this Phillip Lim tee. It is probably a bit of a stretch to call something this embellished and beautiful a “tee shirt” but I will let it slide because it is so versatile and wearable (just like a normal tee). I love the sheer back and panels and the very neutral backdrop. I wouldn’t hesitate to wear a lacy black bra underneath for a hint of skin but if you are not into baring so much flesh a black cami would work beautifully. You could wear this millions of ways and dress it up or down. White jeans, regular denim, skinny black pants, a skirt-the options are limitless. It is available at Shopbop for $395.
I know these are way too springy for the current season but they are just so darn pretty! I have these in nude and they are so comfy and flattering and I get millions of compliments every time I wear them. The new turquoise color for resort is simply irresistible. I am so sad they aren’t available in my size-if they were I would order them asap so I would have a nice little package to look forward to in April when they actually ship. These will be gorgeous with any summery little dress or even white jeans. I would pair them with other pastels like peach, pale pink, or lavender to play up their candy coated appeal. They are available at Neiman Marcus for $895.
